Compassionate School Guidelines
* The schools will affirm the Children's Charter for Compassion
* The schools would re-affirm the Children's Charter annually as a school (at annual assemblies for example) and look to expand affirmation within the community.
* The school would also be encouraged to hang a plaque/poster of the Children’s Charter presented to them upon inauguration.
* The schools should seek endorsement from their School Board (and if fortunate enough, their city council) with our assistance, and look to implement the activity books and lesson plans etc. into the character/heart and mind curriculum. This will assure longevity of the program. Ideal, but not mandatory.
* The school should submit a compassion action plan and agree to at least one activity in the school and one activity in the community annually.
* Teachers would incorporate CCFC classroom lesson plans regularly as part of their activities and/or projects.
* The school would help and promote students participation in social service activities.
* Schools to submit an annual evaluation/feedback questionnaire to evaluate the programs impact.
Compassionate Schools would be assigned a coordinator who will liaison and assist them in implementing the CC4C school programs, lesson plans and activities. A training and information session would be provided if necessary.
* Compassionate Schools will align with a Compassionate School from various parts of the world and begin a “twin” Compassionate School relationship.
